Overview

Training on the subject of Hydrogen Sulfide, or H2S, is essential for all oil and gas workers who could be exposed to H2S during the course of their work activities.

This training helps fulfill the training requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, ANSI Z390.1, Accepted Practices for Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Training Programs, and other regulatory standards.

Keep in mind that while this course provides information on the hazards of the gas, as well as ways to prevent and respond to exposure, you may require additional training in the use of company specific protective equipment and procedures. Training in equipment use and procedures should be provided by your employer and specific to your worksite.

Wallet ID Option

This training comes with an optional PVC ID card with an optional Photo Wallet ID for an additional $5.00 if selected at the time of enrollment. To do so, just select the course that is priced at $24.95. Adding this option later will cost an additional $10.00.

About This Course

Following the completion of all training content and achievement of passing scores on all exams, students will need to complete a brief evaluation and confirm his/her identity. After doing so, the student will have access to the course completion certificate.

Course Exams

This course has a single final exam based upon the quizzes that appear in each section.

The Final exam consists of 20 questions randomly selected from a large pool of questions. A 70% score or better is required to pass each exam. Students who do not pass the exam the first time may retake the exam as many times as necessary in order to pass.

Course Objectives

The objectives of the Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Awareness (Spanish) are to meet the Federal OSHA HAZWOPER training requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 and ANSI Z390.1

Learning Objectives

  • Hazards of exposure;
  • Symptoms of exposure;
  • Methods to protect themselves from exposure;
  • Methods of detecting the gas; and
  • How to respond to exposure to the gas.
Additional Training

When required by OSHA standards, workers must receive additional training on the specific hazards of their job. If you are required to use specific equipment at your job site, you must be trained to use that equipment prior to using it at the job site.

If your employer utilizes specific engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices, or has specific emergency plans related to hydrogen sulfide emergencies, you must be made aware of and trained in these practices and your role in the execution of the emergency plans.

The bottom line in ALL SITUATIONS is that employers are required to ensure that their employees are adequately trained to do their job.
