All of the workplace health and safety instructors we use at Safety Unlimited, Inc. are certified to teach the subjects they present by the following organizations:
The mission of Safety Unlimited, Inc. is to provide the best online and classroom training available, so we employ the best instructors with a wealth of workplace and training experience.
Safety Unlimited, Inc. employs three full-time workplace safety and health instructors, as well as additional instructors as needed. All of our instructors have extensive training and experience in workplace safety and health training.
Our instructors also remain in contact with the working professional world, ensuring they are aware of changes to laws and regulations as well as the creation of new ones. Maintaining a connection with the working professional world allows our trainers to aid in the development of new courses and the improvement of existing courses, tailoring training to real-world situations that students can use at their workplace.
In addition to years of experience training and in the workplace, our trainers have also aided in the development of courses for private industry, and governmental organizations at the State and Federal level. Our trainers, in conjunction with Safety Unlimited, Inc. have aided in the development of extensive safety programs for private companies.
Safety Unlimited, Inc. employs six full-time classroom trainers who make up our primary Instructor Cadre. Our instructors have a wealth of experience and training, and decades of teaching experience in a variety of occupational safety and health fields, including but not limited to: OSHA HAZWOPER, Emergency Response, General Industry Safety, Construction Safety, Maritime, Emergency Medical Services, First Aid, CPR, and other disciplines, including DOT and RCRA topics.
In addition to providing classroom instruction, our instructors are also provide consulting services, plan development, and online course development. Their extensive background experience allows them to serve as subject matter experts in their respective fields.
Mr. Griggs is an OSHA and Cal/OSHA Outreach Trainer for both General Industry and Construction, an H2S and DOT Instructor, and is also a Certified Hazardous Materials Outreach Instructor for the State of California, California Specialized Training Institute—Office of Emergency Services. He has 23 years of full-time employment in the fire service, over 30 years of full-time experience in the construction field, and 4 years of military experience.
As an Instructor, Mr. Griggs has taught tens of thousands of students, beginning as a military trainer, then a fire service educator, as well as a general safety instructor for both General Industry and Construction. Mr. Griggs has taught firefighters, police officers, military personnel, government employees, and private industry students on a wide array of topics.
Mr. Griggs holds a BS in Fire Protection Administration.
Mr. Kosmatka is a Hazardous Materials Specialist and a Certified Hazardous Materials Outreach Instructor for the State of California, California Specialized Training Institute—Office of Emergency Services, specializes in OSHA HAZWOPER, as well as DOT Hazmat training and EPA RCRA training, and is also an H2S, First Aid, and CPR Instructor. In addition to being a Compliance Trainer/Consultant, Mr. Kosmatka has worked as a Health and Safety Manager and Analytical Chemist, and has 4 years of military experience. Mr. Kosmotka manages our Simi Valley, California Training Center.
As an Instructor, Mr. Kosmatka has taught thousands of students throughout his career, including firefighters, police officers, military personnel, government employees, and private industry students, on a wide array of topics.
Mr. Kosmatka holds a BS in Biology and an MBA in Business.
Ana Lenske is an OSHA, Hazmat, and EMS Instructor based at our Simi Valley location. She joined Safety Unlimited as a part-time trainer in February 2022 and transitioned to a full-time role in 2025. Ana is a certified Hazardous Materials Outreach Instructor through the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) under the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES).
Ana has been a certified EMT since 2012 and served as a firefighter for five years, specializing in hazardous materials response and technical rescue operations. She also gained critical field experience working for AMR. Ana holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Washington University. She brings real-world expertise, dynamic field knowledge, and a passion for safety education to every class she teaches.
Mr. Komins is a Nationally Registered and California State Licensed Paramedic with extensive EMS experience since 1989. In his tenure, Mr. Komins has been an Emergency Medical Technician, Reserve Police Officer, Search and Rescue team member, ambulance-based Paramedic, flight Paramedic, fire-based Paramedic, EMS Educator, EMT Instructor, and CPR/First Aid Instructor. Mr. Komins manages our Simi Valley, California EMS and CPR Training Center.
As an Instructor, Mr. Komins has taught thousands of students throughout his career, including, high school and college students, prospective EMS providers, firefighters, paramedics, nurses, and even physicians.
Mr. Komins holds a California K-12 teaching credential and National EMS Educator certification with undergraduate degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services. Mr. Komins also holds a post baccalaureate degree in instructional development and a graduate degree in Emergency Health Services.
Mr. Plum is a Nationally Registered and California State Licensed Paramedic with over 13 years of Emergency Medical Services experience. During his career, Mr. Plum has 3 years of experience as an EMT and 10 years as a Paramedic including 8 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Ventura County Fire Department. Mr. Plum has also served as a Paramedic Preceptor, Fire Academy Instructor and EMT Skills Instructor.
With Safety Unlimited, Inc., Mr. Plum serves the role of EMS Division Manager as well as an instructor for ACLS/PALS, EMT Skills, Public Safety First-Aid, CPR as well as the Hybrid EMT Initial Course. Mr. Plum has mentored many aspiring Paramedics, EMT’s and Firefighters to become accredited and professional in their respective professions.
Mr. Plum hold a NAEMSE Instructor certification, State Fire Marshal Level 1 certification as well as being Nationally Registered as a Licensed Paramedic.
Tiffany is a CPR, First Aid, Public Safety First Aid, and Childcare Training instructor, in addition to being an Office Administrative Assistant. She is also part of the AHA Training Center Faculty for Safety Unlimited. She has a lengthy history as a volunteer for the Ventura County Fire Department with Community Education, teaching the general public about fire safety. Tiffany is a certified car seat technician, educating parents about car seat installations to keep children safe. She also has CPR certified many students in the medical field (fire, paramedics, EMTs, doctors, nurses), as well as high school and college students, general employees, etc.
Tiffany has her Associates Degree in Fire Science from Oxnard College, NAEMSE Level 1, NAEMSE Skills Instructor, and NEMSEC Certifications, as well as her Fire Prevention 1A, B, C and Fire Instructor 1A, 1B.
Mr. Bakman is a California State Licensed Paramedic with experience in Emergency Medical Services since 1995. In addition to working as an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic for a ground-based ambulance service, Mr. Bakman has been a Paramedic Supervisor and Field Training Officer, a Search and Rescue Flight Paramedic, EMS Instructor, and BLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor.
As an Instructor, Mr. Bakman has taught thousands of students throughout his career, including high school and college students, school district employees, current and prospective EMTs, and paramedics, firefighters, nurses, and physicians.
Mr. Bakman is a graduate of Mount San Antonio's Paramedic Program (Class 27).
Dianna is a CPR and First Aid Instructor, AHA Training Center Coordinator and AHA Training Center Faculty for Safety Unlimited. Previously, Dianna spent over 25 years as a workers’ compensation underwriter assessing risks and implementing safety and health plans for employee protection, so teaching CPR and First Aid is a natural fit to her in preparing students, including doctors, nurses, teachers, warehouse workers, babysitters, and more to be prepared in the event of a medical emergency on or off the job. In the future, Dianna looks forward to continuing to teach students to be prepared to act in case of a medical emergency as well as helping to develop future instructors.
Mr. Simmons is a CPR Instructor & EMS Customer Support for Safety Unlimited Inc. He is also a Notary Public and Livescan Technician. In 2024 he became a CPR Instructor to further assist our students. He has been a full-time member of the Safety Unlimited team since 2023.
Prior to joining Safety Unlimited he spent 8 years in permit expediting & project management, working with state and federal regulators in the planning and development of hundreds of development projects across the state of California. Due to his background in planning and development he has refined his skills and has a broad knowledge of the EMS regulations countrywide.
Renee has been an EMT since 2013 working at a private ambulance service in Los Angeles County, and is now an EMT with Ventura County Event Medical Standby, a Safety Unlimited Inc. company. Prior to her EMS career, she worked in education, teaching music in both public and private schools, grades K-12. She is happy to be with Safety Unlimited, where she can combine her education and EMS background.
