About This Course
Following the completion of all training content and achievement of passing scores on all exams, students will need to complete a brief evaluation and confirm his/her identity. After doing so, the student will have access to the course completion certificate.
This course has 1 final exam. The student must complete the course section before attempting the exam. The final exam consists of 10 questions randomly selected from a large pool of questions. A 70% score or better is required to pass the exam. Students who do not pass the exam the first time may retake the exam as many times as necessary in order to pass.
The objectives of this course focus on improving worker safety and health in the workplace through effective Supervision and Leadership Training Programs.
Supervision and Leadership Training is not required under OSHA regulations, but employers should incorporate this critical training into their outreach and conformance assistance activities with regard to employee training.
Topics covered include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership Terminology;
- Manager and Management;
- Supervisor versus Manager;
- Hiring and Firing;
- Being an Effective Supervisor; and
This training should be combined with company specific supervision and leadership training with regard to company policies.
When required by OSHA standards, workers must receive additional training on the specific hazards of their job.
Training providers should be used to ensure credibility and augment a company's training program. Therefore, in addition to the training provided by an outside party, students should receive site-specific training that is supplied by his or her own companies. This training should target the company's unique approach to hazard prevention, including the use of site-specific equipment, health and safety policies, and emergency procedures. As a rule, this company specific training should be well documented.
The bottom line in ALL SITUATIONS is that employers are required to ensure that their employees are adequately trained to do their job.
